What a scraper is
A scraper is software that extracts structured data from websites. Product catalogs, real estate listings, company information — rows you can load into a spreadsheet or a BI tool.
The deal
There are one-time orders and recurring ones.
- You get 20% of each one-time order you bring in.
- You get 15% of recurring orders, for as long as that customer stays subscribed to the dataset.
Customers rarely buy a single dataset. Your cut can go as high as €200, monthly, per customer.
The product
The catalog already lists datasets. For each site, a customer chooses:
- Snapshot (one-time) — a fixed scrape at purchase.
- Recurring (weekly) — ongoing weekly refreshes.
They can optionally add historic data.
Customers can also request sites that are not listed. For each new site I check whether scraping is technically and legally possible, what it costs to run, and what the price will be.
Some customers want the dataset kept off the public catalog. Those are exclusive datasets. They are sold at a premium.
