QuickSight

Load a purchased dataset into an analysis.

How QuickSight loads data

Amazon QuickSight reads from a dataset: a file you upload, S3, Athena, or a database. It does not call a Bearer-token HTTP API from the click-and-upload screen. Upload the CSV. If your company already lands files in S3, put the CSV there and create the dataset from S3 instead.

Connect

  1. Open your QuickSight account.
  2. Datasets → New dataset.
  3. Upload a file.
  4. If the CSV is not already in the order email, use your API key and dataset id from the catalog or confirmation email, for example B-026, to download https://data-marketplace-data.bakosbence.com/v1/data/B-026?format=csv in Excel or Power BI, with Authorization = Bearer mk_… and Anonymous sign-in, then save it as CSV.
  5. Select the CSV. Confirm the preview.
  6. Visualize (or Edit dataset if you need to change types).

AWS documents creating a dataset from a file.

If it fails

  • Upload size limit — use one dataset CSV, or stage the file in S3.
  • Download errors — API errors.
